**Position Overview**

Reporting to the HR and Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations. This position helps maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, manage payroll, and contribute to both HR and financial compliance. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Financial Transactions**:

- Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and maintaining general ledgers.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements monthly.
- Track and process expense reports, ensuring proper documentation.

**Payroll Administration**:

- Assist in preparing and processing payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in hours, wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees in a timely manner.

**Financial Reporting**:

- Support the HR and Finance Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Help with budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant data and insights.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits.

 **Compliance & Data Management**:

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems, both electronically and physically.
- Assist with year-end tax filings and ensure adherence to company policies and governmental regulations.

**Qualifications**
- College diploma or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a small business or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with Sage considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
