**Job Title**: Site Superintendent - High-Rise
**Reports To**: VP High-Rise Construction
**Department**: Construction II

Position Summary
Lead the onsite construction activities of a high-rise project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead on-site management, administrative and technical direction on the construction project site with specific focus on schedule and logistics.
- Develop and implementation of “look ahead” schedules which facilitate the achievement of the project design, budget, and schedule objectives.
- Responsible to implement Smartcentres Construction Management II Inc. Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite and adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of construction plans to manage subcontractor activities.
- Take a leadership role in construction meetings with consultants and subtrades.
- Manage the Smartcentres Construction Management II Inc. onsite staff including assistant superintendents and coordinators.
- Ensure reviews and inspections of onsite work are completed to assess construction compliance with design requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate field inspections with city staff.
- Complete a daily summary report including details regarding health and safety, employees on site, daily progress.
- Monitor compliance with project construction schedule, identify schedule risks and opportunities to accelerate construction schedule.
- Facilitate the resolution of constructability or coordination concerns.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Other duties as requested.

**Academic/Professional Requirements**:

- Educational and experience requirements include a Construction related university degree, college diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- A minimum of 10 years’ construction high-rise experience
- Proven leadership ability
- Proven management skills
- Strong knowledge of high-rise building architectural and engineering drawings
- Foresight to predict problems before they develop.
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents.
- Knowledge of Tarion guidelines.
- Proven ability to achieve ‘building occupancy’ with city officials.
- Health and Safety certificates (WHMIS, Working at Heights, Basics to Supervision)
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and clearly communicate with others.
- Enthusiasm for challenging and new initiatives.
