**Position Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented **Bookkeeper** to join our team in our Markham, ON office. This is an onsite role that requires precision, organizational skills, and the ability to manage financial transactions and records effectively. As a Bookkeeper at First Class Realty, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial operations and supporting our continued growth in the real estate industry.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Maintain Financial Records**: Record and update all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- **Prepare Financial Reports**: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.
- **Reconcile Accounts**: Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accurate records.
- **Monitor Expenses and Budgets**: Track company expenses and ensure adherence to budgets.
- **Process Payroll**: Manage payroll operations, including deductions, tax filings, and employee records.
- **Ensure Compliance**: Maintain compliance with local tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.
- **Collaborate with Teams**: Work closely with management, sales teams, and external accountants to provide financial support and insights.
- **Assist in Audits**: Prepare and provide documentation for financial audits and ensure records are audit-ready.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience**: Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting is required; experience in real estate is an asset.
- **Education**: Diploma or certification in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- **Language Skills**: Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is essential to liaise effectively with our diverse team and clients.
- **Attention to Detail**: Strong analytical skills with an ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- **Organizational Skills**: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- **Team Player**: Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support various departments when needed.
- **Knowledge of Regulations**: Familiarity with Canadian tax laws and financial regulations is an asset.
