| About the role
Reporting to the Director, Information Management, Data Analytics and ISO, the Manager, Information and Data Governance plays a pivotal role at Payments Canada as a strategic visionary in the realm of information management and data governance.
| What you’ll do
The Manager, Information and Data Governance is responsibilities for:
- Lead and guide the team to advance the maturation of the information and data governance function;
- Lead the everyday operations in the data governance program, which includes defining and maintaining a data governance framework, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance;
- Establish a governance plan that defines roles, access, templates, metadata and naming convention for the Document Management System;
- Advise employees on proper information management practices to ensure the proper classification, handling and availability of information;
- Support the development and coordination of information policies;
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Payments Canada's business objectives.
|Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, business, information systems or related field;
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in information management and data governance environment;
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive management and/or leadership experience;
- Experience in maturing a data governance function in a growing organization;
- Progressively more complex experience in information management and governance of information;
- Experience in developing and executing effectively on project roadmaps;
- Experience in defining business requirements and solution designs;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to lead and manage a team of professionals;
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Valid Criminal records check or eligibility to obtain.
|Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with databases and any data query language considered an asset.
| Salary Range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $112,364 and $140,455.
