We are looking for a **Full-time Safety Advisor **to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is looking to bring their experience and skills to our team, have opportunities to grow within the company, and add to our reputation of quality and customer service excellence. We are looking for someone who lives in the Lower Mainland in B.C. and can work in person at our head office in Abbotsford.

**What you will do**:

- Suggest recommendations for program, policy, process, or procedure changes that promote a strong safety culture and safer workplace.
- Maintain an updated understanding of regulatory safety standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of modified work offers, return to work plans, and recover at work plans.
- Schedule and complete annual respirator fit tests for employees and new hires.
- Send out weekly toolbox talks.
- Track and submit safety training and certificates for all employees.
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees.
- Chair Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee meetings.
- Ensure sufficient stock of PPE and safety supplies on site.
- Work with departments to complete Health and Safety qualifications.
- Maintain the Health and Safety board and binders.
- Conduct near miss and incident investigations, and report incidents to WorkSafe BC.
- Set up new employees, contractors, and subcontractors in SiteDocs and review documentation on a regular basis.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Review safety documentation when onboarding new subcontractors.
- Maintain and summarize incident statistics and identify trends.
- Coordinate COR audits and ensure all recommendations are addressed in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular site visits to check for safety compliance.
- Develop and maintain Exposure Control Plans and ensure subcontractors meet WorkSafeBC standards.
- Work with department managers to develop safe job procedures, review safety plans, pre-job hazard assessments, and job hazard analysis.
- Conduct emergency drills.

**What qualifications you have**:

- Professional accreditation (CRST or CRSP), Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from a recognized institution or a combination of experience an education.
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Understanding of the safe operations of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Ability to generate accurate and complete reports in a timely manner.
- Strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- OFA Level 1 is required and must be maintained.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $37.50-$41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Occupational Health and Safety: 1 year (required)
- Construction: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (required)
- CRST or CRSP designation (preferred)
