**About Us**:
The ministry has significant oversight and involvement in the justice system. Through its various divisions and operations, the department is responsible for the administration of the courts in Alberta, information and dispute resolution options for people accessing the court system, legal and related strategic services to government, along with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service. The ministry has a role to play in delivering legal aid to Albertans through an agreement with the Law Society of Alberta and Legal Aid Alberta. The ministry works to ensure the development, availability and access to Restorative Justice, Victim Services and specialized courts. The ministry administers federal firearms legislation, advocates for Alberta’s lawful firearms owners and promotes safety. The ministry is underpinned by a centralized division that provides strategic and integrated planning, policy, business intelligence, transformation, agency oversight and cross-functional services and programs that serve Albertans and system partners across multiple sectors of the justice system. The Strategy Support and Integrated Initiatives division within the ministry is also a shared service, along with the financial services division, between Justice and the ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (PSES).

**Role**:
Reporting to the Deputy Minister, Alberta Justice, you will contribute strategic leadership and direction on policies, programs, legislative and regulatory initiatives as well as standards and measures for current and future strategy and support services for the justice system. This division provides the service delivery arm for Agency Governance and Oversight, Business Intelligence, Business Transformation, and Community Justice and Integrated Services as well as the front line services for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and Alberta Chief Firearms Office (ACFO). The service delivery arm focus of the division is on cross-divisional and cross-ministry initiatives such as strategic policy and legislative initiatives, program and service transformations, research and data sciences, federal/provincial/territorial initiatives, stakeholder and community engagement, as well as integrated programs including restorative justice, victim services, specialized courts, law libraries, Indigenous policy and services, community supports/grants, and agency oversight. These key ministry responsibilities function to facilitate an aligned, coordinated, and focused approach to strategy development and business planning, priority setting and policy and program transformation. The front line focus of the division is on ensuring the delivery of high-quality front line services to vulnerable Albertans through the OCME.

**Qualifications**:
As an influential and highly credible leader, your career will include extensive related executive management experience. You have demonstrated strengths in leading strategic policy, leading in a political environment, enforcement and justice services, and enhancing stakeholder relationships. Your strong communication skills enable you to lead projects and work collaboratively with stakeholders in achieving outcomes. A proficient understanding of the principles of justice, enforcement, victim services, public security, medical examination services and social outcomes will be an asset. A related degree is preferred.

**Salary**:
$5,946.59 to $7,804.23 bi-weekly. ($155,206 - $203,690 / year)
