**Position Summary**:
With a strong view to providing access to culturally safe, high quality care closer to home, FNHA launched 2 virtual service pathways in 2020: 1) The First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day (FNVDOD), and 2) The First Nations Virtual Substance Use and Psychiatry Service (FNVSUPS). These two services currently provide virtual access to primary care, substance use, and mental health services for Indigenous people and their family members living in BC. Following the success of our first 2 years of service provision, FNHA is expanding the services and staffing mix for both pathways to further strengthen and grow the quality and capacity of the closer-to-home services we offer.

The Lead, Clinical Education and Quality has a strong mental health or primary care clinical background, and provides leadership and management of clinical education programs, activities, resources, and related processes and services that facilitate clinical skills development of Virtual Services clinical staff in both FNVDOD and FNVSUPS. In this unique role, the Lead will also provide key support with quality improvement within the Virtual Services.

We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **Responsibilities**:
**Clinical Education**:

- Using a two-eyed seeing approach, manage delivery of full spectrum group and individual education for Virtual Services staff by: Determining education requirements; developing, planning, coordinating, and delivering education programming and activities; evaluating efficacy of education programming.
- Coordinates and/or delivers regular core cultural safety, trauma-informed practice, anti-Indigenous racism, and non-violent crisis intervention education and training
- In collaboration with Virtual Services leadership, completes learning needs assessments of individuals or groups, provides expert advice, analysis and recommendations to support the determination of the ongoing educational requirements to meet or exceed standards of practice.
- Develops and revises educational programs and strategies based on clinical evidence, mandated education requirements, current wise practices, clinical decision support tools, current literature and resources, and education theory.

**Clinical Quality**
- Supports Clinical Services Manager with review of incident reports, planning and implementing necessary changes for quality improvement
- Evaluates both strengths and risks in clinical practice, programming, and workflows, assists in the identification and analysis of trends requiring organizational actions
- Develops and manages client and staff safety indicators for tracking and trending incidents, and the incident management process
- Supports the Clinical Services Manager with conducting chart audits for the purposes of continuing quality improvement.

**Partnerships, Collaboration, and Program Support**
- Regularly collaborates and liaises with FNHA Nursing Collaborative Practice Team, as well as with FNHA Quality Department to ensure alignment in planning, clinical support, and wise practices
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, participates on a variety of designated professional or operational committees and working groups at the local, program and/or regional level.
- Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and hiring of new Virtual Services staff as requested by the Clinical Services Manager.
- Critical incident response, debriefing, and assistance with coverage of code white response as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
