**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Team Lead, 211 Community Resource Database, the Community Resource Specialist - Database Curator Mental Health (CRS-DCMH) is responsible for the maintenance and verification of the 211 database, with a focus on resources for mental health, which is a source of information for government and community-based health and social services. The free and confidential service can be accessed 24 hours a day, in more than 170 languages, by phone, chat, text, and web. 211 helps connect people to the right information and services, making their pathway to care and resources a guided and trusted one. The CRS-DC is part of a team that manages the government and social services data relevant to the 211 service, while ensuring adherence to required accreditation standards for the program. The CRS-DCMH identifies and researches new and updated community services information to respond to the changing needs and resources of communities in Alberta. This position will focus on the area of Mental Health and Addiction supporting the update and expansion of the 211 Database to better support meeting the mental health needs of all Albertans.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**

**Program Administration**
- Maintains digital information records in the database of community, government, and social services
- Ensures easy availability of current and accurate information for users by:

- Ensuring new and updated information is entered into the database
- Ensuring data entered adheres to Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) standards and is consistent with program policy and procedures
- Supporting administrative contacts to effectively submit new information and update existing information on their agency listings
- Identifying and researching new and updated information on community services with a focus on Mental Health and Addictions
- Identifying and reporting issues to the Team Lead as they relate to the display of records, the ease of access/use, and the operation of agency accessed information and referral databases
- Identifying challenges that arise with procedures, providing ideas for possible solutions, and updating related documentation to improve program functioning, in conjunction with the Team Lead and with input from team discussions
- Participating in examining policies and procedures regarding listing criteria for information maintained within the database
- Assists with the preparation and maintenance of publications and resource lists as required
- Supports database quality assurance measures
- Supports enhancement of training for use of the database when looking for Mental Health and Addiction Programs

- Engages in professional development activities to continuously improve knowledge and skills, and therefore the quality of the service

**Client/Stakeholder Relationships**
- Engages in projects that establish, enhance, and disseminate resource data that furthers users’ access to information
- Responds to enquiries and questions about the database or agency and program publications
- Leads database engagement and stakeholder relationship building with Mental Health and Addictions Support programs in Edmonton and Northern Alberta
- Works closely with counter parts in Southern Alberta in engaging and building relationships with providers of Mental Health and Addictions Services

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Related post-secondary Diploma (in a Human Services or Social Science field preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a data entry/administrative support role that included proofreading materials, editing documents or records management
- Knowledge of database principles is an asset
- Successful attainment and maintenance of the Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) designation
- Acceptable attainment and maintenance of a Police Information Check
