**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Health Equity and Wellness (Interim report to the Director, People & Belonging, the Consultant, Respectful Workplace provides strategic leadership and consultation regarding the full scope of respectful workplace investigations, prevention, and education. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a policy and program in accordance with best practice, relevant legislation, and case law.
The Consultant, Respectful Workplace is accountable to research and deliver innovative solutions that are aligned with the client’s business objectives and consistent with relevant policies, collective agreement language, legislation, and the vision, mission, values, and culture of IWK Health. Collaboration with various partners on the People & Organization Development team, organization-wide clients and groups, and provincial partners is integral to the support of the service delivery model.
The Consultant, Respectful Workplace, in collaboration with HR Business Partners, Occupational Health team, and Professional Practice Consultants, provides appropriate proactive coaching, support, and guidance to all team members to help prevent formal complaints, and when formal complaints occur, provides support to all parties during and following a respectful workplace complaint and investigation. This includes but is not limited to providing continuous awareness and education, addressing issues as they arise, conducting investigations into respectful workplace complaints, concluding findings, and writing reports including recommendations, as well as developing and providing education on respectful workplace, investigations, and reconciliation.
**Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday. This role is eligible for hybrid work arrangements. May require travel to community sites to deliver training or conduct investigation.
**Your Qualifications**:
- Graduate of post-secondary degree and/or Certificate Program in relevant programs, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with a proven track of managing complex cases
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), or other relevant professional certification or designation such as a certificate in conflict resolution and/ or alternative dispute resolution is preferred
- Certificate or formal education in Adult Education
- Minimum of five (5) years experience providing human resource services, coaching, and conflict resolution services within a complex unionized environment with a focus on alternative dispute resolution, restorative and healing practices, mediation
- Demonstrated experience in facilitation and adult education
- Formal training and /or experience in mediation and conflict resolution required
- Formal training in conducting workplace investigations and assessments, and writing reports
- Knowledge of cultural responsiveness and trauma informed approach
- Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law
- Experience interpreting collective agreements and policies
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships
- High level of competence in both written and verbal communication
- Excellent client service, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent consultative, influencing, and coaching skills
- Experience in dealing with highly confidential, sensitive information
- Competency in other languages is an asset
