From its main bases in Winnipeg, Thompson and Churchill, Manitoba, and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, Calm Air operates frequent, daily scheduled passenger, charters, and cargo flights throughout Manitoba and the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut.

What You'll Get to Do
Reporting to the Stores Purchasing Manager, the Operational Procurement Specialist ensures all areas of the organization have adequate supply inventory and reconciles invoice discrepancies and shipment delays accordingly.
- Process Purchase Requisitions from authorized personnel
- Review stock levels to ensure continuity of supplies for operational requirements
- Monitor inventory levels while ensuring inventory availability and accuracy
- Proactively follow up on back orders, short shipments, or delayed shipments
- Resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues with suppliers
- Continuously work to optimize workflow, space utilization and labour productivity in distribution centre
- Recommend and implement purchasing process improvements
- Perform cost analysis and cost reduction activities
- Timely and effective communication between suppliers and personnel
- Process and receive products into an electronic purchasing program (Great Plains)
- Work with Accounts Payables to resolve any invoice discrepancies
- Ship supplies to internal bases
- Process all corporate travel and vehicle bookings
- Conduct market research, to ensure prices are aligned with industry standards
- Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience We Value
- Experience as a buyer, purchaser or related inventory role considered an asset
- Post-Secondary education considered an asset
- Minimum of 2 years airline experience
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with all Microsoft related products
- Possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Airport Identification Card (RAIC) and AVOP pass
- Inuktitut language considered an asset
- Preference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
