Procurement Specialist for Production

Position Overview:
As a Procurement Specialist for Production at CB Canada, you will oversee the entire purchasing process, collaborating closely with production, manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams to guarantee the highest standards of quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Fasteners commodity, managing approximately 1,000-1,500 SKUs.
- Engage in effective communication and decision-making with the Engineering team regarding deviations, specification changes, plating, and raw materials.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and analyze RFx documents.
- Place orders and follow up on parts required for production.
- Manage contract documentation, including Supplier Requirement Manuals, Development Agreements, Letters of Intent, and Limits of Liability, adapting them to reflect current market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management is preferred.
- Experience managing a large volume of SKUs.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing.
- Technical background with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of metal plating is a valuable asset.
- Strong organizational skills and a task-oriented approach.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with RFx processes and vendor offer analysis.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Experience in managing international contracts, including reading and revising agreements.
- Capability to make quick decisions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Understanding of KANBAN principles.
