Community Relations Assistant

The Community Relations Department at OSEG is seeking a motivated and passionate part-time events assistant to support our community relations programming. This individual will be relied on to provide support in managing athletes and mascots at events, along with liaising with community partners to understand their needs. The individual will bring event management experience to the role and understand how to engage effectively with external stakeholders.
**_ What you’ll do:_**
- On-site event management for OSEG community events and initiatives;
- Represent OSEG and act as a spokesperson for the organization at community events;
- Facilitate discussions related to OSEG’s programs with our athletes and support mascots in wayfinding and key connections;
- Act as the point of contact for community partners, athletes and mascots when on-site at events.
- Assist community relations staff with additional projects as required.
**_ What’s needed:_**
- Motivated, self-starter, team player;
- Excellent inter-personal skills - skillful at building and fostering relationships;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Comfortable public speaking in front of large crowds;
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and work in a high energy environment;
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
