Job Overview
PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Indigenous Community Relations Specialist to join our team in building a better future for Indigenous communities and the construction industry.

Salary Estimate: CAD $80,000 - CAD $110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Protocol and Cultural Sensitivity Advisor: Provide expert guidance on protocol and cultural sensitivities when interacting with various Indigenous communities, groups, and individuals.
  2. Indigenous Participation Plan (IPP) Consultant: Collaborate with the Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC) directorate within the Centre Block project to develop and implement the IPP.
  3. Business Development Coordinator: Foster business opportunities for Indigenous partners and facilitate meetings between Indigenous communities/organizations and PCL representatives.
  4. Proposal and Contract Manager: Assist the team with proposal development, negotiation of agreements, securement of contracts, and identifying business opportunities within Indigenous communities and organizations.
  5. Operations Support: Support the operations team in planning, logistics, and budgeting as it pertains to work in Indigenous communities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in arts, humanities, community development, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of experience with Indigenous relations at a management level;
  • 5+ years of intercultural experience, preferably with a focus on working with Indigenous nations in community development activities;
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical skills;
  • Ability to develop and advance strategic community solutions;
  • Ability to travel to Indigenous communities;
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is considered an asset.
