**DESCRIPTION**

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of capital projects from defining the scope of work with users and, development of budgets through to planning and executing the project for occupancy by end users.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES**:
**Scoping**:

- Ensuring scope of work aligns with the master plan
- Finalize scope of work and coordinate stakeholder sign off
- Develop project budgets for approval

**Planning**:

- Planning project in conjunction with users and consultants and developing Ministry of Health and Ontario Health submissions as required
- Updating budgets if needed

**Executing**:

- Participate in project tendering phase with consultants
- Coordinate implementation of construction with users, facility team, infection control, occupational health, etc.
- Coordinate stakeholders/consultants/contactors bi-weekly meetings
- Track and report progress to completion

**Ministry of Health and Ontario Health Submissions on >100k and above**:

- Pre-Capital Submissions,
- Stages 1 through 4.2 as directed by MoH
- Track and report progress

**Close Out**:

- Coordinate final walk through/sign off with stakeholders.
- Ensure the delivery of close out manuals to Facilities.
- Coordinate and record a lessons learned session.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of Community College 3-year Diploma program (Building Sciences, Architectural Design and Planning or Project Management preferred) or equivalent.
- 3-5 years considerable position related experience required.
- Strong Knowledge of Planning & Construction:

- Knowledge to understand the scope and needs of our clients and how that impacts any other areas of the organization. To be able to understand and communicate expectations to consultants and deliver on budget and on time
- Strong Knowledge of MoH Capital Planning process:
- Coordination:

- Responsible for all the parts of planning of capital projects; scheduling team meetings, developing budgets, high level to detail schedules, Ministry submissions, Track and report.
- Up-to-date knowledge of CSA Standards:

- CSA Standards are forever evolving and we need to understand how this affects the design of projects. Although the responsibility lies with our consultants to include these, the team is responsible to identify the needs and how the Standards affect the project.
- Strong Communication Skills:

- Strong communication skills are needed to articulate details for every part of the planning of projects, those skills are just important to listen and understand our clients/consultants and contractors.
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Codes (OBC):

- A strong knowledge of the OBC to assist in understanding how this affects project planning. Examples include life safety, accessibility and occupancy loads to name only a few.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.), MS Projects, AutoCAD, Adobe Writer, MS Teams and Zoom.
- Proven ability to attend work regularly.
- Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search required.
