**Hourly Rate**: Payband H (Min) $36.29 - (Max) $42.13

**About the Faculty of Media, Creative Arts, and Design at Humber**:
Humber’s Faculty of Media, Creative Arts, and Design offers the most comprehensive mix of media, arts and communications programs in Canada. **About the Design Specialist Role**:
The Design Specialist is a paraprofessional position which will provide technical services requiring specialized knowledge. The Design Specialist assists in the labs and studios by presenting critiques and demonstrations of design principles and the appropriate use of materials, equipment, technology, and procedures etc. The Design Specialist will also communicate with professors on student progress and problems.

**Education**
- 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent in Drafting, Detailing, Construction, Fabrication, Ontario Building Code, and any other related fields of study.

**Experience/Skills**

Three to five years of progressively responsible and practical work experience in the design industry or education sector. Experience in customer-service work environment which preferably demonstrates the following abilities to:
work on their own initiative;
- initiate and maintain ongoing verbal and written communication with administrators, faculty, support staff and students;
- work in a team environment, demonstrating excellent human relation skills;
- work under pressure, be well organized and exhibit time management skills
- Demonstrable skills in drawing, sketching and drafting.
- Documented or demonstrable skills in computer software related to the design disciplines. Examples include: Adobe suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks, Enscape, Twinmotion, Sketchup.
