**Role**:
Reporting to the Wetlands Team Lead, the Wetland Replacement Specialist will support the overall wetland management program in the Province, with a primary role of leading the day to day operations of the provincial wetland replacement program.

This position will oversee the collection of and appropriate expenditure of wetland replacement funds on wetland replacement projects, the review, evaluation and reporting outcomes of the program in relation to the outcomes of the Alberta Wetland Policy, recommendations of the Auditor General of Alberta and the responsibilities of the department.

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Alberta Wetland Replacement Program, including contract administration and management, budget development and financial management, stakeholder engagement and communication, and records management.
- Conduct comprehensive research, synthesize information, and develop appropriate recommendations for policy development teams.
- Coordinate and organize fast-paced projects.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with municipalities, environmental non-government organizations (ENGO’s), and other stakeholders.
- Build an understanding of ministry-wide priorities while delivering results at the sub-regional operating level.
- Articulate (in written, verbal, and presentation form) and tailor messages to diverse audiences, develop reports, and provide support to the Wetlands team.
- Maintain an organized approach to planning, prioritizing, and coordinating assigned projects and overall workload.
- Maintain organized financial records for payment and issue receipts for wetland replacement fees.
- Maintain organized financial records for Service Contracts, including business case creation, contract development, invoices, and payments.
- Create a strong and collaborative working environment by networking and developing relationships within internal and external stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
University degree in Wetland Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Planning or related plus 4 years related experience in Wetland Management and Assessment. Must be registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Biologist or a Professional Agrologist in Alberta.

**Equivalency**:

- A related two-year diploma plus 6 years related experience. Additional related education considered in lieu of experience on a one-for-one basis.**Assets**:

- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with municipalities and organizations on wetlands and environmental management.
- Experience working in settings with engagement, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus-building.
- Strong written, verbal, and financial management skills.
- Experience with participating in the Alberta Wetland Replacement Program.
- Strong understanding of the Alberta Wetland Policy and associated Directives
- Strong understanding of Government of Alberta policy development cycles and business processes.

**Salary**:
$2,854.12 to $3,686.30 biweekly ($74,492 to $96,212 per year)

**Notes**:
This position works Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
