**The Role**:
As the Internal Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for leading CLBC's internal communications activities that foster positive employee engagement and support of CLBC's strategic goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Works with senior management and People Services to translate CLBC's brand and strategic goals and determine related employee communications priorities
- Develops strategies to help employees understand, and reflect CLBC's values of commitment to those we serve, including a culture of continuous improvement and attitudes that welcome ongoing change
- Manages the intranet platform, including maintaining internal news and feedback sections and supporting other content owners and internal stakeholders to keep information current
- Assists with governance and the promotion of the Intranet platform as a key channel for communicating strategic information with employees CLBC
- Develops a range of internal communications that align with, support and reinforce CLBC's vision, mission, values and brand requirements, bringing them to life for internal audiences
- Provides advice and guidance to leadership about internal tools and strategies to inform communications planning for a range of CLBC strategic initiatives
- Supports People Services in its efforts to build bridges between head office and field offices, and to create a strong team culture and a positive attitude toward change

You will stand out if you have:

- A strong grasp of professional communications and especially effective internal communications programs for large organizations
- Understanding of internal communications needs within a government and social services context
- Familiarity with social services and inclusion programs for individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle pressure and work in a dynamic work environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines, emerging issues, and competing demands
- Technologically savvy, and ability to manage an intranet portal, including capabilities in platforms like WordPress and SharePoint, ease with social media like Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo and YouTube, and ability to work in design and video editing software

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or equivalent and relevant discipline
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in communications, ideally internal communications and/or employee engagement in a large, complex organization
- Demonstrated experience in writing, editing and use of current communications technology and platforms
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

**Hybrid work **Combines on-site office work with flexibility to work from home within BC.

**Location**:This position may work from any major CLBC office: Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Prince George.

**Additional Info**:
Team: Communications and Community Engagement
Term: Anticipated 70 hours bi-weekly for 6 months
Classification/Salary: Communications Officer R24 - Position starts at $40.44/hour
