Mitchell’s Towing is a family-run business that has experienced consistent growth over the last 15 years. Initially starting with two trucks and a few staff, it has now grown to a fleet of 20 trucks, 30 staff and North Shore’s largest towing company. We provide 24/7 towing and recovery service for the District of West Vancouver, North Vancouver and multiple policing agencies such as the NV RCMP, WVPD and CVSE.
We are looking to fill the position of Operation Manager to support our growth and customer service objectives. Customer service is important to the organization’s growth strategy. The role of the Operations Manager is a focal point for the organization’s ability to service the community.

The Operations Manager will coordinate and manage the business’s day-to-day functions, including labour, productivity, quality control, and safety measures. They will ensure safe and efficient operations. Serve as a company representative to clients, suppliers, and the public. Enhance the operational procedure, systems, and business processes, while communicating efficiently. Look for opportunities to expand sales and help maintain the organization’s strategic direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, schedule and supervise staff.
- Manage Vehicle Inventory, such as seizing and selling vehicles.
- Receive calls and help staff outside regular business hours or when needed.
- Improve and implement efficiencies in operational management systems, processes, and best practices in the industry.
- Work closely with the management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
- Liaison with Police agencies, Fire departments, Municipalities, and other key clients.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and serviced regularly and develop opportunities to lower critical equipment’s total life cycle costs.
- Assess financial and volume reports implementing strategies to increase profitability.
- Successfully deliver services while balancing a cost-effective approach in operations.
- Communicate customer issues with the management team and devise ways to improve customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proven work experience as an Operations Manager or similar role.
- Requires a working ability to manage several priorities simultaneously, including delegating assignments and follow-up with staff.
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
- Familiarity or experience with business and financial management.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating good interpersonal, diplomacy, and judgement.
- Leadership ability and soft skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field would be considered an asset.
- Certification in Lean and Six Sigma principles would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft software, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience in the Towing industry would be considered an asset.
- Experience in fleet management would be considered an asset.

COMPENSATION
- Salary $90,000 to $110,000 depending on experience and education.
- Yearly performance bonus.
