**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Working under the general direction of the Park Superintendent, you will:

- plan, develop and implement the park's major activity, cultural and natural heritage education programs
- design and develop visitor education programs, publications, displays and social media content
- assisting with the monitoring of park research programs
- assisting with the monitoring and protection of the park's natural resources

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory requirements**:

- You must have the ability to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate.
- You must be able to work shifts, weekends and holidays as per schedule.
- You must possess a valid class 'G' driver's licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
- You must have the ability to work outside in inclement weather.

**Technical knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of native and invasive flora, fauna, ecology, geology, meteorology and astronomy in Ontario.
- You possess a thorough knowledge of cultural history, natural resource protection and education delivery to design and develop educational programs for target audiences.
- You are able to operate and maintain field research equipment, such as GPS locators, weather stations, water chemistry meters, data loggers, etc.

**Leadership skills**:

- You possess a proven ability to provide leadership and direction to park staff.
- You demonstrate negotiation skills to problem solve and deal with staff and park issues in a professional manner.
- You possess judgement skills to ensure staff are in compliance with workplace policies and procedures (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act) while also being able to make decisions in line with various policies and procedures.

**Communication skills**:

- You have strong communication skills to interact with the public, various interest groups and the media as well as to deliver park interpretive programs.
- You have well developed written communication skills to prepare and deliver presentations, reports and plans, develop digital communication material and respond to social media inquiries

**Other essential skills**:

- You are able to plan, organize and prepare work plans, staff schedules and set program priorities in a fast paced environment.
- You have the ability to operate varied audio/visual equipment and photography equipment.
