The Town of Slave Lake is looking for an energetic and responsible individual to join our team for the summer months of July & August, as a **Parks Activity Leader **to engage with residents and park uses in fun recreational programs and activities Hours would primarily be Monday to Thursday 11am to 4:30pm however work outside of those hours may occur, including evenings and weekends.

**EMPLOYEES THAT REPORT DIRECTLY TO THIS POSITION**:
None

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Greet Park users in a friendly welcoming manner.
- Program and implement activities at various Town of Slave Lake sites/parks.
- Provide leadership to program participants.
- Encourage program and event participation.
- Provide assistance during special events.
- Provide support to the Community Services Department as required.
- Maintain good relationships with public, co-workers and participants.
- General park maintenance and clean up as required

**QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**:

- Current First Aid/CPR, or ability to attain it prior to employment commencing.
- Previous day camp/recreation program experience preferred.
- Valid Class Five (5) Alberta Drivers License would be considered an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- High energy team player, with knowledge of day camps, recreation programs and events being an asset.
- Outgoing and comfortable engaging with customers of all ages
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work independently.

**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT**:

- Occasional moderate lifting of equipment and supplies.
- Working outdoors in any weather conditions.

- The noise level is usually moderate.
- May be assigned an irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
