Maintenance Coordinator

**COMPANY SUMMARY**:
**STATEMENT OF PURPOSE**:
Improves the performance and effectiveness of the maintenance group by coordinating and prioritizing work orders, making recommendations to improve current procedures, ensuring that critical parts are available as needed, and facilitating communication between the production and maintenance groups.
**EDUCATION REQUIRED**:
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering (mechanical / Electrical) or Millwright or Electrician or equivalent technical experience.
**TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**
- Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation Certification or License preferred.
- Certificate in Project Management would be an asset
**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
- Food / Pharma industry experience a definite asset, but not essential.
- Minimum 5 year in industrial setting with 2 years in maintenance supervision or Coordination.
**TRAVEL REQUIRED**:
- Minimal travel required for training and cross training at other Nitta facilities.
**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Prioritize work orders and develop a daily/weekly / monthly schedule.
- Organized record-keeping
- Review PM (Planned Maintenance) work order history and contribute to the PM schedule to optimized equipment reliability & labor.
- Provide the Maintenance Manager with analysis on the department’s performance against established KPI’s.
- Monitor and maintain Parts Inventory to ensure work orders are timely.
- Review and close-out completed work orders.
- Facilitate communications between Maintenance and other departments.
- Periodically review policies and processes to ensure best practice throughout the department.
- Develop and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) reports on equipment.
- Understand, comply with and promote all company safety rules, GMP’s, company policies, regulations, and documentation.
- Ensure the effective capacity utilization, reliability and life cycle asset management.
- Assist maintenance mechanics as necessary and perform all other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if required.
- Must follow food safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department where the employee is assigned.
