- The Bicycle Valet _provides free and secure bicycle/active transportation parking across Metro Vancouver.
- Seniors on the Move _is a seniors-led, systems-charge project that aims to increase transportation options for older adults and others who do not drive, which BEST co-manages with United Way B.C.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: $19/h

Hours: 30 hours/week

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: This position is available as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program and is offered for a short-term employment period. The remuneration will be in accordance with the program's guidelines.

**Job Summary**:
As a Social Media and Content Creator Intern, you will play a crucial role in our efforts to promote sustainable transportation through effective and engaging online content. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, create, publish, and share content across various social media platforms, fostering meaningful connections and increasing awareness among community members.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Plan, create, publish, and share engaging content**:_ Develop and curate compelling content, including text, images, and videos, that effectively communicates our organization's mission, promotes sustainable transportation, and engages our target audience.
- **Graphic design**:_Utilize your graphic design skills to create visually appealing and impactful content, including social media graphics, infographics, banners, and other visual assets.
- **Collaborate on social media campaigns**:_ Work closely with program coordinators to develop and execute social media campaigns that align with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all channels.
- **Monitor web traffic and SEO**:_ Measure and analyze web traffic using tools such as Google Analytics. Monitor SEO trends and implement strategies to optimize content for maximum visibility and effectiveness.
- **Stay up-to-date with social platforms**:_ Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and changes in social media platforms to ensure our organization's social media presence remains relevant and impactful.
- **Develop posting schedule**:_ Create and maintain an optimal posting schedule that takes into account web traffic and engagement metrics to maximize reach and engagement with our target audience.
- **Oversee social media account layout**:_Ensure that our social media accounts have an appealing and cohesive layout that reflects our organization's brand identity and values.
- **Provide social media support for events**:_ Assist in promoting and covering events organized by BEST across social media channels, including live coverage, real-time engagement with attendees, and post-event content creation.

**Requirements**:

- Strong passion for sustainable transportation and environmental conservation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other similar software.
- Basic knowledge of SEO principles and web analytics tools.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content and visually appealing designs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

**Eligibility Criteria**:

b. Permanent residents of Canada, or

c. Persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment.
