Human Resource Assistant-summer Job

We are looking for a summer student who is highly motivated, detail oriented, and wants an opportunity to gain experience as a Human Resource Assistant.
**What you can expect**:
The Human Resource Assistant will play a vital role in uploading and building our HRIS infrastructure and work closely with Human Resource Department team to build and maintain a workforce of Direct Support Professionals. This position will act as an ambassador of Epic Opportunities, building relationships with community organizations to elevate our recruitment strategies. As part of the HR team they will assist with on-going human resource initiatives actively participating in the internal/external recruitment process, raising community awareness about Direct Support careers, assisting with screening of potential employees, employee recognition planning and other general HR duties.
**We will count on you to**:
- Communicate effectively with the Epic Opportunities team, partners and community members.
- Engage in community awareness initiatives to promote Epic Opportunities and the work of Direct Support Professionals, increasing our recruitment presence.
- Assist with tracking and processing of the internal/external recruitment systems.
- Work with the HR team to upload all historical HR data to the HRIS, and monitor for integrity.
- Engage in a special project of organizing and planning details for Direct Support Professionals recognition week.
**The successful applicant for this position must meet the following Canada Summer Jobs Grant requirements**:
- Must be between 15 - 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person whom refugee protection that has been confirmed under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act at the duration of employment; and,
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- International Students are not eligible.
**Qualifications and experience we are looking for**:
- Area of studies which will be an asset; Human Resource Management, Human Services, or Community Development.
- Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, values and policies of Epic Opportunities.
- Ability to manage several projects at a time, be organized and carry out priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently or in a team setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and both a Child and Adult Abuse Registry check upon hire at their own expense.
