**Status**:Contract Full Time; 13 Months

**Salary Range**:$96,785 to $120,979 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits and paid vacation)

**Location: 2 Copper Road Brampton, ON**

**Hours of work: 35 Hours per week; Monday to Friday**

**Reports to**: Manager, Roads Operations & Maintenance

**Team Structure**: Non Union, Technical Specialists (Head-count 6)

**What you will do in this role**:

- Supervise a team to coordinate the asset maintenance and long-term state of good repair maintenance programs encompassing all road and stormwater assets of the Transportation Division which includes undertaking asset inspection and asset monitoring, quality assurance inspections of contracted services, data analysis and prioritizing of minor asset repair needs.
- Coaches, mentors and assists the team including completion of performance management plans, hiring, career development, and addressing performance related issues.- Provide input for the development of future preventative maintenance plans, capital and operating budget (up to $10 million annually) considering future needs and in consultation with other internal and external stakeholders, using risk assessment and other tools.
- Maintain and administer the Road Maintenance Level of Service Standards including participation in the development and road design review process
- Supervises the delivery of asset inspection and asset monitoring programs and analysis of collected deficiency data outputs to identify and prioritise minor/major repairs of the Region’s Road and Stormwater assets
- Provides data for minor repair and preventative maintenance needs to the Planner/Schedulers for scheduling, resource allocation and execution of field works by front-line staff and/or contracted services.
- Provides major repair and condition data to Infrastructure Programming section for the purpose of developing the Transportation long-term state of good repair capital program and budget
- Identifies resources/stakeholders and assembles and leads project teams from internal support, internal stakeholders, and external consultants or services, develops technical terms of reference/specifications, identifies scope and deliverables of projects for including in tender documents.
- Ensures asset maintenance projects are monitored and completed using best practice and existing management methodology
- Builds sustainable relationships with internal/external stakeholders to collaborate on all aspects of infrastructure coordination and planning and with external utilities (telephone, gas, hydro, roads, etc)

**What the role requires**:

- Position requires university/college degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- 5 years of relevant and related job experience.
- 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Strong technical knowledge of the principles and practices of road maintenance management including asset management practices and environmental permitting requirements for road assets and stormwater systems, condition assessment and asset management approaches; construction contract procurement and administration
- Financial aptitude and understanding of business/financial analyses for assets, deliverables and management of consultants
- Able to interpret and understand technical data related to project preliminary design, infrastructure conditions, asset life cycle.
- Combination of education and experience may be considered

- strong problem solving skills to evaluate stakeholder input with technical feasibility and develop appropriate and cost effective solutions
