**Primary Function**:
Reporting directly to the Owner/ Lead Consultant, the Health & Safety Specialist will develop programming to ensure clients maintain regulatory compliance and will provide support on all Health & Safety initiatives. This individual will lead the systems management of Certification, Auditing, Training and Development processes.
- Develop and provide guidance on all Health & Safety policies and programs.
- Conduct field visits and site inspections
- Coordinate and conduct employee training, including new hire orientation and Health & Safety regulations.
- Create and implement Health & Safety Continuous Improvement plans for clients.
- Support disability claims management and Early Return to Work programs
- Participate in and support inspection and audit processes ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Participate in and support the hazard identification process and incident investigations.
- Support any health & safety initiatives or certification programs
- Plan, schedule and maintain records of all training programs and initiatives
- Support client health and safety committees (i.e. meeting minutes, inspection documentation, etc)
- Other duties as assigned.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Minimum two years of Health & Safety experience, ideally in an industrial setting (forestry, mining, etc).
- Completed post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant or related field. (i.e. Business, Human Resources, Kinesiology, Occupational and Public Health)
- Experience with operating, maintaining or inspecting heavy equipment would be considered an asset.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, detail and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, self starter, initiative required to act under mínimal supervision
- Strong planning skills and highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Regular work attendance is imperative and the ability to work flexible hours as required
- Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle may be required at times.

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
