**Permanent, Full-time | Benefited Position**
Are you a managerial professional who is looking for meaning in your work?
**PARC Retirement Living **is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We are seeking a **General Manager** for **Oceana PARC**, our community in White Rock.
**Welcome to Oceana PARC**
PARC communities are inspiring spaces, where our residents come, not just to live - but to live comfortably, and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people. There’s a lot to be said for designing a community that brings together the best of all worlds: a vibrant town centre and panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean, coastal mountains and the San Juan Islands.
Located in the heart of White Rock, Oceana PARC offers a modern, urban lifestyle along with the perfect recipe for fostering a sunny disposition: community connection, awe-inspiring views and an active, health-conscious approach to life.
**About the role**
Because life at Oceana PARC is nothing short of extraordinary, we are seeking an individual with the same high standards to fill this position. Under the direction of PARC’s Senior Director of Operations, PARC's General Manager is charged with overseeing the comfort, enjoyment, and well-being of all Oceana PARC residents.
This includes:
- Managing all human, physical and financial resources of the residence, including leading, supporting and motivating our employees.
- Overseeing residence policies and programs for operational and financial success, including budgets and strategic plans as needed.
- Coaching employees to reach their full potential and conducting performance reviews.
- Getting to know and building a rapport with each resident by discovering their personal history, likes and dislikes and family dynamics.
- Maintaining strong relationships with outside professionals, stakeholders, and community organizations in a manner consistent with PARC’s high standards.
- Creating, analyzing and submitting financial and other reports as required.
- Managing emergency situations on an on-call basis and providing onsite leadership.
- Participating in conferences and courses, plus other duties and special projects as required.
**The perks of working for PARC**
- A compelling Vision & Mission. PARC’s Vision is to create exceptional residences where seniors can live a better life. We deliver on this Vision through our Mission which is to build and operate financially, environmentally and socially sustainable retirement residences.
- Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you’ll be making a positive difference in seniors’ lives, each and every day.
- A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.
- High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Vision Care, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more
**It takes a special kind of person to work here - does this sound like you?**
- You’re a driven, customer-service-oriented managerial professional with a degree in hospitality, business, gerontology or another related field - or you have equivalent experience and skills.
- You have between five and ten years’ experience working in senior living, hospitality or another related industry; providing strategic and operational leadership.
- You also have at least five years of experience in leading and managing employees, cultivating high-performing teams and employee engagement in a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- You’re a strategic thinker and problem-solver with a glowing track record of implementing strategic, operational and marketing plans, as well as budgets and financial plans.
- You’re quick on your feet, anticipating issues and demonstrating sound judgment in handling confidential matters.
- You communicate effectively and tactfully with customers and employees alike.
- You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and the professionals engaged in their care.
At PARC Retirement Living we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. We also require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
