We are looking for a **Food Bank Manager **to join our Sources Food Security team This individual should enjoy working with the public, physically capable of managing some front-line Food Bank responsibilities and committed to ensuring our most vulnerable community members have access to basic needs.

- **Description of position**_

Reporting to the Executive Director of Community Programs, the Program Manager is a permanent employee of Sources Community Resources.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Manages day-to-day operations of the South Surrey/White Rock and Langley Food Banks and the Aldergrove Food Hub.
- Ensures that health and safety measures are in place for the safety of staff and clients, including identification of potential risk and implementation of risk management strategies.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships and works in collaboration with other community groups to improve and enhance services in a coordinated fashion.
- Participates in quality improvement and evaluation processes.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility through financial controls and accountability.
- Additional responsibilities as required.

**Program Specific Responsibilities**:

- Ensures that appropriate policies and procedures for operations are in place.
- Coordinates procedures for food and monetary donations.
- Oversees the purchase and delivery of food items required for food distribution.
- Develops and establishes procedures for sorting, dividing, distributing, storing food and non-food items.
- Coordinates daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal work tasks of the Food Bank.
- Prepares the annual Program Reviews in collaboration with staff, volunteers and others.
- Works in collaboration with Food Banks Canada and Food Banks BC.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and works in collaboration with other community groups (including schools, churches, service clubs, merchants, etc.) to improve and enhance services in a coordinated fashion.
- Initiates, promotes and maintains fundraising activities to ensure the financial viability of the food bank.
- Provides relief in the absence of other staff or volunteers if needed.
- Additional responsibilities as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or certificate in Social Sciences or Business Administration
- Previous experience in volunteer recruitment and management
- Previous experience in the operations of food banks or comparable services
- Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
- Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English
- Standard First Aid and CPR (Training may be accessed through Sources)
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
- Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract

**Start Date**: August 21, 2023

**Salary**: $30-$33/hour
