ST. JOSEPH’S HEALTHCARE HAMILTON’S Communication and Engagement Officer will support the work of the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program for Ontario West, under the direction of communication leads at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. The aim of the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy program (OSP) is to make evidence-based psychotherapy and related interventions available for Ontarians with depression, anxiety and anxiety-related problems. Using a standard referral and intake process, these individuals will have centralized access to structured psychotherapy through virtual and in-person options. This program has been implemented successfully in four pilot sites across the province, and the new Ontario West program is one of a number of expansions in Ontario.

The Communications and Engagement Officer will work with the Ontario West Network Lead Organizations (St. Joseph’s Health Care London and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton) and Satellite Delivery Sites (SDS) to lead strategic and tactical communications and support stakeholder engagement. This will include creating and implementing a full communication plan, including maintaining and modifying the OSP web-based portal, engaging with multiple stakeholders across the healthcare system and marketing of the program to targeted audiences. The role will include developing, delivering and maintaining stakeholder relationships and community engagement activities that promote, educate and amplify the objectives of OSP across the West Region. This is a hybrid workplace role, with ~3 days/week on site, and ~2 days remote, with ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for outreach events.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs duties in a manner that demonstrates the employee’s commitment to developing a culture of patient and staff safety through accountability, reliability, trust and team work.
- Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act, in a timely manner.
- Staff are encouraged to participate in activities with other organizations and with the community.
- Manage communications and develop a strategic communication plan for the OSP program for Ontario West
- Work closely with Ontario West Network Lead Organization leadership in the OSP program to offer strategic communication advise, and develop tactical and measurable communication outcomes
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholder organizations to coordinate communications that are effective and consistent, with key stakeholders being communication advisors at the Centre of Excellence, Ontario Health West, and Ontario West mental health organizations
- Develop key messaging and communication channels for stakeholders to provide timely updates
- Work with internal and external partners to write and design audience-appropriate communications materials (i.e., newsletters, flyers etc..) for distribution.
- Composing compelling stories, posts and articles of varying length and style for OSP communication vehicles including: internal and external e-newsletters, websites, promotion materials etc. Detailing and launching potential future social media page for OSP West in line with internal/external guidelines
- Support program managers and clinical network lead to maintain program visibility and build relationships with community members and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Develop timelines and critical paths for communication to stakeholders
- Keep communication leads at both Network Lead Organizations informed
- Measure success of communication
- Update and manage existing OSP West portal/website
- Establish and manage a stakeholder database
- Support stakeholder engagement for the Network Lead Organizations
- Develop communication messages and tactics to inform key stakeholder groups
- Marketing of the program to the correct stakeholders to ensure knowledge of the program reaches the correct people
- Work closely with stakeholders and partners to develop and implement partnerships and outreach strategies that increase awareness and support for the services and priorities of OSP.
