**Position Summary**:
The Accountant will be based in the Burlington office and will report to the Accounting Manager. The Accountant is responsible for supporting day to day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting, ensuring effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations. This position is also responsible for supporting work towards effective and timely completion.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Understand, compile and analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to report on revenues and expenses and to provide advice in conjunction with the Manager.
- Responsible for weekly tasks, such as daily cash flow reconciliation and payment clearing, short weight clearing and posting, and etc.
- Responsible for weekly reporting, such as purchase price variance analysis, spending account review, inter-company transactions, and etc.
- Perform monthly reconciliation on general ledger accounts, provide analysis and explanations to various users.
- Assist Accounting Manager on delivering weekly and monthly financial reporting package on timely basis.
- Perform journal entries to various accounts during period-end process.
- Maintain and modify BusinessObjects reports to better accommodate the needs of users.
- Assess current business processes and initiate changes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Compile and deliver financial reporting vehicles to all levels of management, on regular basis and per ad-hoc analysis request.
- Complete cross training on AR, AP and Claims deductions functions. Provide backup for these functions when needed.
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
- Other assigned duties including cross training on other functions.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**:

- 3 to 5 years of related experience in Financial reporting or similar role.
- University degree or college diploma in Business or Accounting.
- CPA Designation (or working towards completion) is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Must be self-motivated and creative.
- Manufacturing/Costing experience is an asset.
- Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.
- Strong and proven commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Strong organization skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
