Destination Canada is looking for a **Brand Engagement Specialist **to join our team in Vancouver as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.

This global role is a specialist in using digital channels and non-traditional methods to support overall brand engagement.

You will identify opportunities to promote Canada as a travel destination, as well as collaborating with marketing teams, industry partners, creative agencies, influencers and creators, and cross-functional teams to increase reach, influence, and love for Canada. As a member of the Brand Engagement team, you are a strategic marketer, passionate about uncovering insights that help elevate our brand in digital and non-traditional spaces. You will report on social media metrics, monitor issues or crises, provide direction and support for in-market teams, and act as the specialist for brand engagement best practices.

Destination Canada strives to be an agile organization that is responsive to a fast-paced industry, and this position will require the skills and personal attributes to support this objective.

**DUTIES**: Reporting to the Manager, Brand Engagement, the Brand Engagement Specialist will directly support the development of strategy and execution of brand engagement planning and implementation across digital channels and non-traditional forms, leveraging current and future channels and trends. The role will be responsible for the content and delivery of Destination Canada’s (DC’s) organic consumer social media platforms as well as playing a vital role in strengthening and growing the Destination Canada brand through engagement activations.
- Manages Destination Canada’s social media channels to promote the Canada brand as well as the country as a travel destination.
- Monitors and reports on social media metrics and KPIs.
- Leads community engagement, developing and delivering a brand voice to engage with an online community as well as influencers and brand advocates to increase reach, influence and love for Canada.
- Brings the brand engagement strategy to life.
- Works closely with marketing and campaign teams to identify and activate partnership opportunities on social media that leverage consumer marketing initiatives.
- Keep abreast of trends, new technologies, innovative strategies, and limitations. Researches content and trends for social channels, and generates ideas for ongoing content features.
- Supports the development of brand engagement strategy.
- Establishes working relationships with tourism partners, including national and DMO partners and SMEs to build alignment and opportunities for support.
- Establishes working relationships with DC marketing teams, industry partners, agency partners and global in-market teams.

**Essential Qualifications**

**EDUCATION**: Graduation from a recognized university in marketing, communication, or other relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years in strategic brand engagement creation and execution through various digital channels (researching, strategizing, sourcing, writing, editing, directing, managing online content)
- Minimum 2-3 years consumer engagement experience through various social media and digital channels
- Experience sourcing and partnering with key influencers and advocates
- Experience coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders
- Previous experience managing online presence for a destination is an asset

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of current and emerging social media platforms, their functionality and limitations (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), how they can be leveraged for different scenarios and against different strategies
- Solid understanding of social media metrics, social listening, scheduling tools, and digital analytics
- Strong knowledge of online content creation, optimization, and digital marketing techniques
- Strong knowledge of social media trends, opportunities, and issues management
- Understanding of marketing internationally and cultural and linguistic nuances
