As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Providence Health Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.

The position is full-time and the incumbent will work onsite at the Community Research Hub in the Downtown Eastside. Hybrid work is not an option for this position as onsite presence is needed daily to oversee the Community Hub. Travel to meetings may be required from time to time.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Within the context of a client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.
Reporting to the CGSHE Director of Operations, the Research Site Coordinator, Community Hub provides research coordination for the Community Hub (located at 647 E. Hastings), supporting multiple UBC & SFU frontline research projects led by CGSHE faculty members. The Community Hub was created through a one-time Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) funding to create a collaborative community research space for various research projects led by CGSHE faculty members working at the intersection of gender equity and sexual health research. This position works collaboratively to support faculty and their research teams who work across various departments/ schools at UBC Faculty of Medicine and Simon Fraser University (SFU) including providing research administrative support and serving as the first point of contact for research participants and members of the community attending the facility. The position is responsible for disseminating facility and research policies, guidelines, practices, and updated information relevant to all research projects at Community Hub under the supervision of the Director of Operations. The Research Site Coordinator supervises and provides day-to-day support to the Front Desk Research Assistant(s), coordinates recruitment of research participants, schedules research participant appointments and manages research room booking and resources for the relevant research projects operating at the Community Hub.

**ORGANIZATION**

The Research Site Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations. As a collaborative research space, this position takes some day-to-day direction from the faculty/ PIs on their relevant UBC research projects and REB protocols, and works collaboratively with the faculty’s various UBC research teams across a number of UBC departments/ schools.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- High School diploma or equivalency required. Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Social Sciences, Public Health, Public Policy or a related field is an asset. Minimum of two (2) years’ recent, related experience in administrative coordination or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in frontline/ community services, including experience with marginalized communities.
- Research experience or training is an asset.
- Experience and/ or training in conflict management is an asset.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to work with diverse community collaborators, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Flexibility in daytime and early evening hours to support outreach and recruitment to study populations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
