**Kentville Material Recycling Facility (MRF)**
**Scotia Recycling Limited (SRL), **a member of the **Scotia Investments Limited (SIL) **family of companies, is an operator of Atlantic Canada’s leading recycling facilities located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. With an approximate workforce of 200 dedicated employees, we specialize in the collection, processing, sales, and brokerage of recyclable materials, and are a proven industry leader that have been in operation since 1976.
As we continue to grow and invest in our operations, Scotia Recycling Ltd. (SRL) is searching for a skilled and experienced **Operations Assistant Manager **for our **Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Kentville, Nova Scotia**. The facility has recently gone through an extensive expansion and modernization project and is the most advanced of its kind in Eastern Canada.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role will be pivotal in managing the day-to-day operations of the facility with a focus on maintaining and safe and respectful workplace through positive employee relations while optimizing and developing operations processes and procedures.
**Key Objectives and Responsibilities**
- Proactively promote a culture of safety and reduce risk through identification and elimination of hazards
- Manage day-today operations of the MRF with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, inventory management and housekeeping
- Provide people centered leadership to the team to foster teamwork and continuous improvement
- Development of and compliance to standard work instructions through ongoing coaching of team members
- Lead all team members to meet and exceed production standards and targets
- Ensure equipment and facility maintenance standards are developed, communicated and adhered to
- Maintain ongoing strong business relationships with all stakeholders
- Develop and grow the skills of team members to assist them in reaching their potential
- Lead by example and foster a culture of respect and teamwork at the site
**Qualifications**:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering or diploma in engineering technology is preferred coupled with a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
