**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
The Program Coordinator will support staff, community partners, students, volunteers, and management in increasing efficiency in service delivery and agency operation and will serve 2 equally important roles:
1) First point of contact for all survivors looking to access services and supports at the agency.

2) Administrative assistance to support the successful operation of the day-to-day functions of the agency.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct safety planning tailored to survivors’ unique needs, determine and support basic needs of survivors, and support in reducing barriers for survivors such as organizing childcare, translation and interpretation, and transportation.
- Collect relevant survivor demographic information.
- Respond to agency referrals and inquiries from community partners.
- Administrative assistance including, but not limited to: general oversight of office logistics and coordination, contacting suppliers, vendors, and caterers, trouble-shooting and organizing facility and utility maintenance, managing inventory of office and kitchen supplies, audio visual support, supporting YRCCS services such as group session support and child minding, maintaining relationship with building management to organize facility and utility coordination.
- Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, statistics, on-site visits, on-site partner office use, communication log, and additional relevant information in accordance with agency policy, and funding requirements.
- Support agency feedback and outcome initiatives such as distribution and completion of survivor feedback surveys and tracking client testimonials.
- Collaborate with Program Manager to organize professional development sessions, agency newsletters and communication, social media, and website updates.
- Support Management Team with event administration of agency events and initiatives such as Annual General Meeting, fundraising, community partner collaborations, and community events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree or diploma in Social Work or related discipline with an understanding of social work ethics and professional boundaries with survivors and service providers.
- Lived experience as a survivor of violence and abuse is an asset.
- Experience working in the Violence Against Women sector.
- Minimum 2-years related experience in a social service setting working with diverse populations, including survivors, low-income individuals and/or those from various cultural and racialized backgrounds utilizing an anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice for survivors of intimate partner, domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking and thorough understanding of the needs of survivors and the ability to work effectively with them.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision with high level of flexibility given the variance in responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Patience to work under pressure, and attention to detail.
- Ability to think strategically, plan, execute, and make practical decisions and solve problems based on experience, observation, and intuition.
- Technologically proficient with the ability to trouble shoot.
- A good understanding of the social services available in York Region and how to access them.
- Ability to develop and regularly practice healthy self-care techniques
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset, but not required.
- Satisfactory and current Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- 3 references, ideally in relation to experience in the social services sector.
- Travel throughout York Region and YRCCS satellite locations is required.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This is an on-site, in-person position within an office environment throughout York Region. This position is scheduled primarily for 5 days per week, with evening and weekends being required based upon survivor availability, agency need, and/or special events. This position will include the occasional extra hours worked, with lieu time provided, to compensate.
