With 489 Guestrooms, 36000 sqft of Event space, a 26th-floor Concierge Lounge, SPIN Kitchen & Bar, and a Starbucks, crowned by our rotating rooftop Summit venue, we are the tallest hotel in the City and second-largest hotel overall.

Marriott Ottawa is preparing to begin a transformative, top-to-bottom renovation of all guestrooms, event space, restaurants and public areas, commencing in 2023, positioning the hotel to continue its storied legacy of hospitality excellence.

The **Catering Sales Manager** is responsible for the development of new accounts with potential for primarily catering requirements for day meetings, social events, holiday parties etc. both inside and outside of the hotel. Build meaningful customer loyalty through client partnerships and industry networking. Maximize account revenue penetration through effective use of sales resources

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:

- Identify, solicit and qualify strategic accounts in assigned markets to develop definite bookings and leads.
- Responsible for booking new business through the execution of pro-active sales efforts and the promotion and follow up of existing leads.
- Responsible for achieving personal sales activities (outside calls, entertainment sites, solicitation letters) and definite catering revenue production goals.
- Quoting and negotiating prices within established parameters and processing/negotiating contracts.
- Closing business efficiently and coordinating with the Event Management department to ensure delivery of hotel’s promised services.
- Participation in creative site inspections, hotel marketing caravans and trade shows.
- Must be available to travel and work some weekends as required.
- Develop sales strategies and action plans towards achieving maximum revenue penetration for each account.
- Cooperate and communicate with other departments in arranging site visits, special events, client hosting by providing information of interest regarding all clients.
- Promote and encourage inter-departmental cooperation and communication to improve customer service and overall satisfaction.
- Attend all departmental meetings on a regular basis, offering constructive feedback and input.
- Other reasonable duties as required.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Education/Experience and skills**_
- Bachelor Degree and/or Hotel Management degree (asset).
- Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience or similar environment required.
- Bilingualism (English & French).
- Proficient Knowledge of business systems including Windows, Word/Excel an asset.
- Prior Industry affiliations and a catering or events background a definite asset
- **Complexity/Analysis**:_
- Highly motivated and results driven with a proven ability to close business and maintain client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proactive and able to manage multiple functions and projects while meeting deadlines.
- A strong team player.
- Able to work in a fluid environment and with mínimal supervision.
- Able to strategize and provide recommendations on new business opportunities and effectively determine value and profit of potential opportunities.
