**Position**: Human Resources Coordinator (Full-time, Contract ending November 2023)

**Hours of work**: 35 hours per week

**Reports to:**:Director of Human Resources

**Position Summary**:
Responsible for providing support and advice on all basic human resources needs. This includes transactional support activities as well as any general inquiries or concerns regarding recruitment and selection, employee relations, health and safety, benefits and compensation.

**Responsibilities**:

**Leads recruitment, selection and on-boarding activities for all departments**:

- Conducts full-cycle recruitment in collaboration with the hiring supervisor
- Collaborates with and serves as liaison with employment agencies, educational institutions and industry associations
- Provides support and resources throughout the on-boarding process

**2. Supports orientation and training programs***:

- Organizes and conducts new employee orientations, and ensures all new employees have the necessary information and resources
- Assists with the implementation of the annual Training Plan and coordinate all internal and external trainings

**3. Provides employee relations support***:

- Assists with providing advice to supervisory staff and employees on the implementation of policy and procedures and conflict resolution to promote a positive and equitable work environment
- Acts as a first point of contact and responds to employees’ concerns and inquiries and follow-up with appropriate course of actions

**4. Supports health and Safety programs/initiatives***:

- Supports and contributes to Health and Safety initiatives and programs; and serves as secretary to the JHSC
- Coordinates and manages all WSIB cases, LTD, STD and accommodations requests
- Ensures all rules and regulations of the OHSA are adhered to and carried out by the organization

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management or Post Graduate program in Human Resources Management

**Experience & Skills**:

- One to two (1-2) years’ experience in a Human Resources Coordinator role, with a focus on recruitment and health and safety
- Experience working in the social services or healthcare sector an asset
- Knowledge of and familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations such as ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act and AODA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with a HRIS systems an asset
- Highly detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and resourcefulness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-cultural team
