**About Abundant Intelligences**
Abundant Intelligences is an ambitious, large-scale six-year research program exploring how to integrate Indigenous Knowledges and Artificial Intelligence systems. The research team currently consists of 48 co-investigators and collaborators at universities/research institutes and community-based organizations in Canada, the United States, and New Zealand. Team members come together in locally-rooted “Pods” (research clusters) to collaborate with Indigenous communities and learn from, and with, their knowledge holders to bring novel perspectives to transforming AI. The Niitsitapi Pod is exploring the use of A.I. through the facilitation of dialogs with Blackfoot Elders, as well as through art-based explorations into how Niitsitapi creative and cultural practices (language, song, dance, and storytelling in all its diverse forms) might shape Indigenous AI systems. **Position Description**
The Pod Coordinator plays a central role in the Abundant Intelligences (AbInt) research program. The Coordinator brings people together, organizes meetings and events, and helps produce and disseminate various research and creation outcomes. They make sure the Pod communicates well and stays connected with the broader Abundant Intelligences network. The Coordinator supports the Pod leadership team and works with the Abundant Intelligences management team. The Pod Coordinator is an excellent position for emerging researchers to learn how large-scale world-class interdisciplinary research teams operate while making their own important research contributions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in overseeing the general operations of the Pod;
- Assist in overseeing the strategic research direction of the Pod;
- Assist with the Pod budget, and budget annual reports;
- Assist with maintaining good relationships across the Pod;
- Help ensure the research program aligns with those of the Abundant Intelligences networks, the Executive Council and the Steering Committee;
- Organize Pod meetings, and help create meeting agendas;
- Keeping a calendar of weekly events and lab activities;
- Note taking and record keeping at meetings and other events. This may include audio/video recordings (with permission);
- Documentation of events, happenings and other. This includes organizing documentation provided by the team members;
- Assist in promoting and organizing collaboration across the Pod;
- Data management, backup and security (including policy) across the Pod;
- Assist in overseeing the flow of funds within the Pod;
- Research management (general);
- Oversee annual review of research progress.

**Salary**:
$37.59 per hour

**Position Qualifications**
- Interest in how high-level research is conducted in interdisciplinary environments.
- Comfort working with a wide range of collaborators, including faculty, staff, students, Elders, and community members.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to multitask; working independently and in a team.
- Excellent judgement in assessing scheduling priorities.
