This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships. Reporting to and working under the direction of the Festival Executive Director/Producer, the Festival Administrator will assist in a variety of administrative tasks.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain volunteer database and contact lists ensuring they are up to date for past, current, and new volunteers.
- Participate in outreach activities to secure volunteers.
- Contact new volunteers by phone as required.
- Assists in scheduling volunteers and with communication around scheduling.
- Assists in assigning volunteers to various positions.
- Assists in updates to a volunteer handbook.
- Assists with providing information to all volunteers prior to Festival.
- Creates social media updates to Facebook and Twitter.
- Assists the Publicity Committee with online listings, editing content for communications and various other related tasks as assigned.
- Helps revise and maintain the grassroots website FAQs.
- Assists with planning and executing the Volunteer welcome party prior to the festival.
- Other related administrative tasks as assigned.

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Excellent oral and written English language skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Reliable and able to work cooperatively as a team member with a minimum of supervision.
- Experience with typical office automation tools (e.g., spreadsheets, documents, etc.)
- Scheduling skills

**Additional Qualifications Required**:

- An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week,
- A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada, and one that meets at least 1 of the following criteria:

- Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.
- Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.
- Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.
- Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous 60 months.

NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.

**Remuneration**:
$688 (gross) per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $21.50 based on 4 days/32 hours).

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 26 weeks

Pay: $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2024-12-16
