Partners in Parenting is searching for a dynamic, caring, and creative **Adults Special Needs Educator for our Day Services LIFE (Learning in a Fun Environment) Program**

**Signing Bonus available**

**$3/hour to be paid on top of regular wage (Temporary Wage Enhancement from the Government)
- and $2/hour shift premium on any weekend shifts.**

**Targeted start date: ASAP**

The Adult Special Needs Educator will be responsible for co
- leading and organizing the classroom alongside the Facilitators and the Supervisor to support the growth of our participants.

Learning In a Fun Environment, is a continuing education program for students who have a developmental disability and are able to manage their behaviours and transportation. Some students may require support with their personal care. Students focus on academics through an online literacy and numeracy program as well as develop life skills and vocational skills through community placements tailored to their skills and abilities. Our goal is to provide paid employment in their field of interest.

- **Ability to self-start/take initiative**:

- **Skilled to work in a team environment**:

- **You must have the patience and ability to handle challenging behaviours.**:

- **You must be comfortable supporting clients with personal hygiene routines and medication administration.**:

- **Ensure all social needs are being met (COVID-wise).**:

- **Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making skills.**

**Required**:

- Standard First aid & CPR level C
- Experience with Disabilities
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Access to a reliable vehicle, clean driver's abstract and valid G License (G2 acceptable in some cases as well)

**Education requirements**:CYC, DSW, ECE, ABA/IBI, Autism Spectrum and Behavioural Science, Social Work, Special Education, Mental Health Worker and/or minimum of 3 year experience working with individuals with complex needs.

**Salary**: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Special Education: 1 year (preferred)
- Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
- supporting developmental disabilities: 1 year (preferred)
- creating lesson plans and leading activities: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (preferred)
- NVCI (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
