The role
Shaw Communications is hiring a Business Specialist to join our Process and Technology Team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Process Enablement, the Business Specialist will initiate the review and analysis of Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing supply chain processes and understand how changes will impact groups within end-to-end Supply Chain.

This individual will be comfortable working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment and will be responsible for delivering high quality solutions to our stakeholders. The focus of this role is on project coordination, knowledge management, and process improvement.

We are looking for someone who has excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and is passionate about working with a diverse group of stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver best-in-class solutions for process and technology enablement across the Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing teams.

This is a temporary 6 month assignment.
A typical day
- Collaborate with stakeholders to lead the development and delivery of process and tools documentation - such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Process Flowcharts and Quick Reference Guides. This includes both existing processes, and new processes (i.e. new projects or technology implementations)
- Drive the coordination and execution of the Data Integrity & Compliance strategy by working with stakeholders to assess various documentation and data for Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing processes/procedures, and administration of systems/tools
- Provide project coordination and support of key department initiatives to track progress to plan and ensure documentation is organized and up-to-date
- Process and maintenance owner for Strategic Sourcing Intake and Value Creation tools
- Support organization, delivery of training, and change management to employees for new system, tool, or process rollouts
- Support process/training material updates and/or creation of net new materials

Your skills/experience
- 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in Business Analysis, process development and documentation, training, knowledge management, and communications is required.
- University/post-secondary degree or equivalent level of relevant work experience is required.
- Competent with collecting data from and presenting solutions to stakeholders throughout all levels of the organization.
- Experience with large ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud and/or Coupa systems is an asset.
- Experience with communications systems and tools is an asset (i.e. SharePoint, The Pipe (Jive platform), Contact Monkey)
- Experience with LMS is an asset (Learning Management System - TalentEd (Degreed)).
- Training in Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management methodologies is an asset.
- Critical thinking ability; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to issue identification and resolution.
- Ability to self-motivate, multi-task, and prioritize work.
