**JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION**: Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

The Grizzly Paw is a craft brewery and hospitality company located in Canmore, AB at the heart of the Canadian Rockies since 1996. We are fiercely committed to our guests, colleagues, community and environment by crafting fresh food, a dynamic beer selection, locally made sodas and engaging experiences.

Reporting directly to the Director of People & Culture, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting payroll, benefits administration and recruitment process within the company. This position demands strong administrative prowess, acute attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions autonomously. Based primarily at our brewing facility, the role may necessitate flexibility to fulfill tasks at various locations as required. Exceptional interpersonal skills are imperative, as the incumbent will interact regularly with leaders, colleagues, and regulatory bodies.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll, including related reports, entries, and audits-
- Help with the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and facilitating onboarding through ADP-
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of digitized employee files-
- Maintain company forms and ensure adherence to the HR policy manual-
- Track colleague anniversaries, organize gifts, and coordinate team events-
- Administer company health benefits, ensuring seamless operation-
- Contribute to Health & Safety committee and Community and Green team initiatives-
- Lead quarterly benefits training-
- Occasionally facilitate colleague orientation sessions-
- Maintain proper audit track records, follow company policies & procedures-
- Develop and maintain close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments-
- Follow health & safety guidelines at all time-
- Consider the environmental impact of all decisions-
- Other duties and projects as assigned**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION**:
- 2-3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, and/or recruitment-
- Proficiency in various software programs including Microsoft Office and ADP's platform-
- Education in accounting, payroll, or administration-related discipline is highly desirable-
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with proficient written and verbal communication abilities-
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is advantageous-
- Proactive, mature and self-motivated demeanor
