As one of the campuses of the University of British Columbia, UBC Okanagan offers a globally recognized degree at a more intimate campus with 9,600 undergraduates and 1,065 graduate students. Biology
is one of four administrative units within the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science. The Biology Department’s 28 faculty are actively engaged in mentoring >900 undergraduate students in five majors (Biology; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Microbiology; Ecology, Evolutionary and Conservation Biology; Zoology), as well as >80 MSc and PhD students. In the past five years, the department has received a total of $15 million in research funding to support >400 different projects.
