Athabasca University's Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor, Applied Mathematics with Research Specialty in Astro/Space Physics.
Key Responsibilities- Develop an active research program in a field of expertise that engages and supports the Athabasca University Geophysical Observatory (AUGO) I and II.
- Support AU's undergraduate program in Applied Mathematics through the coordination and teaching of undergraduate courses, including high enrollment introductory level courses and intermediate and senior level courses.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Applied Math program through the design of new courses as determined by the needs of the program and the candidate's research and teaching interests.
- Provide integrated and practical training using mathematics software and programming languages within their courses.
- Serve as an active member of Athabasca University's community through participation in Centre, Faculty and University Committees.
- Participate in service to the greater external community.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
