Workforce Development Manager

**About HRAI**:
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is a national trade association representing the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Committed to advancing the industry through education, advocacy, and professional development, HRAI plays a crucial role in improving the industry’s impact on the environment and ensuring the growth and sustainability of HVACR businesses across the country.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Strategic Planning:_
- Develop and implement a comprehensive workforce development strategy aligned with the current and future needs of the HVACR industry.
- Collaborate with industry partners to identify key skill gaps and emerging trends in the workforce.
- Identify and tap into government funding opportunities to supplement and amplify industry efforts to expand the HVACR workforce, especially related to shifting demands emerging from the transition to net zero carbon solutions.
- Program Development and Oversight:_
- With the Education Team, design, coordinate, and manage training and industry support.
- programs to address identified skill gaps and enhance the capabilities of the workforce.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure effective program management and delivery of expected outcomes.
- Industry Collaboration:_
- Cultivate strong relationships with allied industry associations, educational institutions, and government agencies to promote collaboration and address common workforce challenges.
- Represent HRAI in industry forums and participate in relevant committees and working groups.
- Educational Outreach:_
- Work closely with educational institutions to develop curriculum materials and training approaches that align with industry standards and promote career pathways in HVACR.
- Facilitate outreach programs to attract and engage individuals interested in pursuing a career in the HVACR industry.
- Organize and oversee a team of industry volunteers (“HVACR Career Ambassadors”) to represent the industry at career events, job fairs and related opportunities.
- Develop needed promotional tools (website, written materials, etc.) to support outreach efforts.
- Advocacy and Policy:_
- With HRAI’s GR team, advocate for policies and initiatives that support workforce development in the HVACR sector.
- Stay informed about relevant government regulations and funding opportunities for workforce development programs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:_
- Collect and analyze workforce data to track industry trends and assess the impact of workforce development programs.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Business, Human Resources).
- Proven experience in workforce development, training, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate programs.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the HVACR industry and its workforce needs is an asset.
- Familiarity with government policies and funding mechanisms related to workforce development.

**Working with HRAI**
This is a FT position working at our modern office in the Airport Corporate Centre area (401 & 427) but currently full-time staff are working from home 2 days a week on a hybrid model. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, 3 weeks vacation, paid benefits, flexible start hours, eligibility to join our RRSP plan after 1 year, and annual funding for continued development of our staff.
