**JOB SUMMARY**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Research, develop, and write grant proposals and templates
- Share emotionally appealing fundraising stories to help spread the word and raise funds in alignment with Shepherds of Good Hope’s strategic goals
- Proactively research and engage with corporate, community, family, and private foundations, as well as certain government agencies.
- Create briefing notes and present funding opportunities to the Senior Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Teams.
- Write letters of intent to potential funders effectively communicating the case for support
- Create strong relationships with internal and external partners - representing the organization with an elevated level of professionalism.
- Maintain funding opportunity database records and track all activity in a grant calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports
- Work in coordination with the team to prioritize projects, gather required information, track key performance indicators, and work on multiple proposals simultaneously
- Assist with donor stewardship strategies like phone calls and letters as required
- Assist with other fundraising activities as required

**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

The Coordinator of Grant Development will have Post-Secondary Education in related discipline (i.e.; business, fundraising, social sciences, marketing, or communications) and will have at least 1 year of experience in fundraising writing, working with funders, securing foundation grants, or developing fundraising proposals with a proven, demonstrated success rate. Alternatively, they will have a combination of related education and past employment with transferable skills.

Additionally, they will possess the following skills and experience:

- Detail oriented, strong project management skills, a commitment to accuracy.
- Superior writing, analytical, and research skills
- Demonstrate initiative, motivation, creativity, and ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines
- Professional customer service skills and proven track-record in developing strong relationships
- Competencies in computer systems including Microsoft Office.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team; skilled in collaboration and maintaining healthy team dynamics.
- Raisers Edge or other fundraising database experience is considered and asset.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Communication skills in French are considered an asset.

**Working Conditions**

The regular working schedule is 8 hours from Monday to Friday, during normal business hours. Shepherds of Good Hope promotes a hybrid work environment for this role. The position requires flexibility in scheduling work around program needs that may occur during evenings and weekends (i.e., fundraising events). Shepherds offers staff the ability to manage their time accordingly and utilize flexible working hours where needed to make up for the times where exceptional hours may apply.

**Salary**: $46,634.00-$53,296.00 per year
