Under the direction of the Chief Commercial Officer, the Proposals Manager is responsible for all processes and procedures involving the costing and preparation of sales proposals and estimates (proposals). These proposals involve communications with customers on a global basis and coordination with internal activities including engineering/manufacturing/purchasing and finance. Further, the Proposal Manager will participate in joint marketing/engineering/R&D team projects concerning the improvement and development of product technology and will coordinate with project management/contract admin. regarding the ongoing execution of customer contracts.

The prime objective of the Proposal Manager is to ensure technical and commercial compliance with customer and company requirements. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure all requirements are adequately costed and technically compliant at the time of bid and prior to final project engineering.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and update costing databases and systems,coordinate with engineering and purchasing for required inputs.
- Review and recommend proposed selling prices
- Prepare final proposal documents
- Ensure proposals undergo internal review procedures prior to release
- Upgrade procedures to allow optimization of proposals within required time limits.
- Evaluation of customer requests to ensure technical compliance of the offer.
- Conduct analysis of competitor solutions.
- Coordinate with sales and contract admin staff.
- Manage sales pipeline using CRM tools
- Pre-qualify sales leads and actively support customer development
- Report on proposals status through weekly and monthly written and verbal updates to management. Provide summary reports on activity. Communicate with customers concerning contract, commercial and technical issues during the tender process. Ensure ongoing knowledge and involvement (as required) of sales managers/partners concerning these communications.
- Liase with sales and business development functions concerning existing and potential customer development.
- Provide cross-functional support/assistance to business development/technical functions.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 5-10 years experience in technical sales environments with specific experience in preparing proposals
- University or college degree in engineering preferred
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and administering new procedures and programs.
- Working experience with integrated systems
- Superior knowledge of excel,word and CRM software.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated superior organizational, teamwork and communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Demonstrated skill in influencing corporate culture change and communicating clearly and effectively with clients, peers, supervisors and management.
- Additional language literacy preferred
