Calgary, Canada The University of Calgary Full time

**Position Overview**

The **Office of Advancement** is currently seeking a Full-time, Regular **Development Coordinator**.

The University of Calgary is Canada's leading next-generation university, a living, growing and youthful institution that embraces change and opportunity with a can-do attitude. The University has a burgeoning new strategic direction, Growth through Focus. We will be Canada's most entrepreneurial university in the country's most enterprising city by ensuring a transdisciplinary focus for our scholarship; deeper partnerships and integration with businesses, governments, and purpose organizations in our community; and future-focused program delivery that sees us offer more modes of instruction, modularization and micro-credentials. In 2021, the University of Calgary was ranked in the top five of Canada's best research universities and is the youngest university in this class.

The Advancement Office exists for the mutual benefit of the University of Calgary and its stakeholders and coordinates development, alumni relations, communications, and community partnerships. The development area is an active, collaborative team that enhances University fundraising efforts in support of designated University priorities.

Reporting to the Director of Development, The Development Coordinator will provide administrative assistance with emphasis on decision-making and highly developed organizational skills in support of the Faculty of Science. The ability to anticipate needs, plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work with no or very little direction is a strong requirement. Strong time management skills, with the ability to set individual priorities, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is essential. The incumbent will work with key staff in the faculty; including the Dean of the Faculty of Science, as well as Advancement team members. The Development Coordinator is often the first point of contact for the Advancement leads and has access to highly sensitive and confidential information. The incumbent will interact with key external stakeholders including donors, alumni and community leaders.

The volume and difficulty of the work varies from routine to complex. Having the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment, and under stressful situations, the need for accuracy, dealing with continuously shifting priorities, and a high traffic workplace with frequent interruptions is key to the success of the incumbent.
