**Position Overview**

The Family Adventure Leader (FAL) is responsible for planning and implementing an activity and recreation program for youth booked on CMH Family Adventure trips.

The FAL’s role is to organize the daily tasks and activities for youth of all ages to participate in and learn from. With a balance of time spent working alone or with other members of the lodge team, the FAL plays a key role in the hiking, skiing, and lodge family adventure programs.

With a strong understanding of guest expectations balanced with teamwork and excellent organizational and communication skills, the FAL will be the “go-to” expert in the lodge for all the youth activities.

This is a seasonal job opportunity. The CMH summer season runs from late-June to end of August. Daily rate of pay is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Plan and execute a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that will create memorable mountain experiences.
- Organize a daily schedule that aligns with the needs of the lodge.
- Strong time management skills to keep youth engaged and focused on activity schedule.
- Creatively adapt program needs to support a variety of ages.
- Develop trust and a strong professional relationship with parents of the FAL participants.
- Have a fun and welcoming approach to youth leadership and group management.
- Abide by OH&S and WHMIS standards and regulations.
- Support guests in the field program, as needed.
- Provide support for rescue operations when required.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear Criminal Background Check.
- Post-secondary education in recreation or youth developme
