We are growing our team to enhance the care at Marianhill in response to the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act. Therefore, we require more staff. As a result, we are recruiting for _a Full Time Unit Manager of Hospice. _

Marianhill is a faith based, not-for-profit organization that provides long-term care, complex continuing care, community support services, palliative and hospice care services. Marianhill is accredited with Exemplary Standing.

**Unit Manager of Hospice**

The Unit Manager of Hospice provides direct comprehensive care to Hospice residents, and works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill’s Mission Statement, established policies and procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the client and promotes maximum independence.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) diploma or degree with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Performs assessments and ensures proper communication to the care team.
- Participates in evaluations required clinical programs including but not limited to the Palliative Care and Quality of Life Programs.
- Responds promptly to concerns of residents and family members, mediating a satisfactory response to concerns and implementing action plans to avoid reoccurrence of similar issues.
- Performs other duties as applicable within nursing and management roles including but not limited to medication administration, data analysis, committee leads, etc.
- Responsible for admissions to the Hospice; participates in the regional palliative care rounds and on the other community committees as may be appropriate.
- Management/supervisory experience in a unionized long term care setting is preferred.
- Experience in hospice, palliative care and/or end of life care is preferred.
- Technical expertise in computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, eMAR, etc.
- Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
- Excellent attendance is required and expected.

Hours: Bi-weekly 75 hours/other to be discussed

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step. You will be required to provide an original, clear vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and be able to sign a declaration at time of hire. Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer and you must participate in the Annual Influenza Program and N95 Mask Fit Testing Program as applicable.
