Child & Youth Mental Health Collaboration Lead

The OVOHT is one of 57 Ontario Health Teams across the province built with the goal of delivering more connected and integrated care for patients, families, and caregivers. Under OHTs, hospitals, physicians, homecare, community health, and social service providers work as one coordinated and integrated team - no matter where they provide care.
The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families provides child and youth mental health assessment, therapy, support, counselling, group therapy and consultation for children and youth and parent education groups across Renfrew County. The Phoenix Centre is legislated by the Ministry of Health as the Lead Agency for Child and Youth Mental Health for Renfrew County to work in collaboration with our children’s service partners lead local regional and provincial planning efforts to ensure a high quality, standardized and coordinated system of health care that is centered around children, youth, and their families.
The Phoenix Centre is a core partner of the Kids Come First Health Team, the Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team, the Lead Agency Consortium, and Childrens Mental Health Ontario.
The Child and Youth Mental Health Collaboration Lead (Lead) aims to advance collaboration, quality improvement, evidence-based decision making, and implementation across children’s mental health settings in Ottawa Valley OHT through the development and implementation of collaborative tables.
This joint position between the Phoenix Centre and the OVOHT will collaborate across child and youth mental health settings and health care partners to create client centred models of care that are efficient and simplified for both the client and the provider.
The Lead will support and enable leadership of child and youth mental health groups to develop strategy and objectives to execute identified plans. The initial focus will be on completing the required MOH three-year child and youth community mental health plan.
Other key responsibilities include data extraction of health information, reviewing data quality, supporting mental health providers in the implementation of data quality initiatives, improving the flow and use of information, developing queries and analytical products to support quality improvement goals and teams engaged in clinical process change.
The Lead will participate in regional and provincial initiatives and support working groups, as needed, and be responsible for data and reporting to guide decision making related to OVOHT quality improvement initiatives, client centered programs, and services and other improvement activities.
Contract until August 30, 2024
Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours/week
Reports to: Strategic Implementation Lead
Strategic and operational direction for the position will be provided by the Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team (OVOHT) and align with the priorities of the Kids Come First Ontario Health Team and the Lead Agency Consortium.
Work from home position with occasional need to travel to partner agency sites across OVOHT region.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams engaged in quality improvement to identify performance measurement information and data quality needs
- Support the work of boards and quality improvement committees in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans, including organizational QIPs and the OVOHT cQIPs.
- Develop, generate, analyze, and interpret extracted health information.
- Engage and collaborate with interprofessional health care professionals and OHT partners to support the collection and measurement of projects and initiatives.
- Improve the data integrity and comparability of primary care providers and OVOHT.
- Function as a change agent and coach to inter-disciplinary teams on data management and performance measurement
- Oversee key initiatives and projects and report on progress
- Monitor and evaluate clinical information system functionality from a user and decision support perspective.
**Qualifications**
- University degree in related discipline (Health Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences or Health Information Management) or equivalent education and experience (master’s level preferred);
- Certification in Health Information Management and/or project management is an asset.
- Minimum 7 years of experience working in a performance and quality improvement role in healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in data quality and clinical information management best practices.
- Knowledge of and experience working in children’s mental health setting
- Experience in performance improvement techniques and practices used in healthcare settings, process redesign, and system implementation - including project and change management principles.
