The Role:
Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Gift Card Marketing Manager to join our CRM team The team is focused on customer marketing strategies from retention to loyalty and gift cards is an essential part of the overall strategy.

The Gift Card Marketing Manager will play an essential role in managing the day to day operations and the growth of gift cards across three verticals - Web store, 3rd party and B2B. Each vertical requires a unique strategy and hence solid experience in marketing as well as partner relationships is crucial to success.

The Person:
This role will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the Kobo gift card program, which includes:

- Building marketing plans and goals to achieve company objectives for the Gift Card program, channel development, branding, sales, and redemption strategies
- Manage all 3rd party and direct eCommerce marketing placement calendars tightly with a good understanding of ROIs to optimize for best performing campaigns
- Source new B2B partners and manage all partner relationships
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts. Assist in periodically conducting quality assessments to ensure ideal partners/platforms are in place
- Managing budget and financial plans, and tracking progress against these plans throughout the year with responsibility for the program P&L and marketing ROI
- Strong reporting skills to manage reporting and ongoing analysis for sales, redemption, and breakage of Gift Cards and presenting to Executive Leadership
- Collaborating cross functionally with Creative, Operations, Sales, Analytics, Product and other Marketing teams to drive innovation to optimize existing campaigns and processes while paving the way for further expansion via new campaigns
- Take point on facilitating / coordinating teams to address any system issues that impede program performance and ensure they are resolved, and preventative measures put in place
- Support monitoring program trends related to suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Build and manage card production forecasts, always maintaining optimal levels and not-over producing that results in throw away product
- Evaluate gift card designs and make recommendations on changes that are needed to attract new buyers of the product

The Skillset:
Required:

- 5-10 years’ experience in the Gift Card Industry preferably worked at global scale gift card programs
- Solid understanding of gift card financial mechanics and budget management
- Experience with 3RD party and eCommerce gift card sales(Vendors like BlackHawk, Incomm)
- Critical thinker and sound decision maker that can also manage through crisis situations
- Able to multitask successfully across multiple (potentially competing) priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced culture
